Year 4 - Team Inspiration

TEAM LETTERS - 2021-2022

Year 4 Summer 1 Team Letter and Knowledge Organiser

We've had lots of fun designing, making and erupting our own volcanoes!

We visited Bulwell St Mary's church to find out about the Easter story.

We've made a brilliant start to our new topic! We've learned all about fossils and how they are formed. We loved going on our own fossil hunt and discovering some fossils, just like Mary Anning did!

In science, we used chocolate to help us understand the rock cycle and the different types of rocks (igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary). Yum!

Look how much confidence we showed during our first skating lesson since lockdown. Mrs Newton, Mrs Doyle and the coaches were so impressed by how much we had remembered.

We dressed up as our favourite book characters, and chose a book that we felt reflected us, for World Book Day.

The Battle of Hastings 1066...William of Normandy versus King Harold Godwinson. Who will win the English crown? Year 4 have learnt all about it!

We have been learning about what happened after the death of Edward the Confessor.

We studied the images created by Giuseppe Arcimboldo, an Italian artist, then created our own self-portraits in the same medium.

This week we have been making a variety of healthy soups.

We learnt about the digestive system by making a model of one.

We drew pictures about what we thought was inside us.

We carried out an experiment to see how different drinks would affect our teeth using eggs.

At the start of Topic 3 we found out about different types of teeth and what they do.

Topic 2 - Just how vicious were the Vikings? - Discussing the geography behind invasions and designing shields.

Topic 1- Where would you rather live? - The children researched and learnt about different locations around the world. They then chose a famous landmark to create a silhouette. They used different artistic techniques to help them with their design.
