30.6.22 Team Rainbow meet Gerald our new class pet. We will be learning how to look after a pet over the next couple of weeks and how to make sure Gerald is happy and safe with us in school.

24.6.22 For our Time to Shine this week we continued to learn more about rugby and spent more time practicing throwing and catching a rugby ball. It's not as easy as it looks!

22nd July 2022

As part of our topic on animals we took the children to the

  National Adventure Farm

Although the weather was hot we had an amazing experience and saw lots of different animals, including reindeers and took part in different activities throughout the day.

Please take a look at the photos below to see what a lovely day we had.

THANK YOU AGAIN to all of the parents who came with us.

We could not have done it without you!

Heading to the farm on a bus!

Time for a quick drink before we start!

The giant sand pit was filled with lots of dinosaur bones and it was hard work digging them up!

The musical maze was confusing and we did get lost but it made some brilliant sounds!

We explored the climbing equipment on the assault course and it was tough but we did it!

The Kitchen Garden was full of fruits, vegetables, herbs and bees!

After lunch we went on a tractor ride around the fields and saw reindeers and lots of scarecrows!

During the Amazing Animals we were able to meet lots of friendly animals, feed them and stroke them too! We loved it!

What a wonderful day! :)

17.6.22 Our class read author this half term is Michael Rosen and our favourite story is Little Rabbit Foo Foo. We had lots of fun creating our version based on this story using a selection of farm animals. We had lots of fun doing it and even did our own illustrations too!

15.6.22 We had our first Sports Day in a while and we all had great fun in the hot weather!

10.6.22 We had our first TIME TO SHINE session this week and Mrs Page introduced RUGBY to Team Rainbow. We found out what happens when a rugby ball bounces and worked as a team to keep the ball moving and away from Mrs Page. It was great fun and we cannot wait to do more next week!

7.7.22 Rainbow day

We had a a fabulous morning celebrating all things colourful.

We read a wonderful diversity story, Black is a Rainbow Color by Angela Joy,  all  about seeing  different shades of black in the environment. Then we got busy playing colour bingo, painting and collaging rainbows, colourful paper weaving and bubble painting.

Finally we did a colour science experiment, looking at how to turn a white flower to a blue or red flower.

7.6.22 Our Inspirational Person.

On Tuesday afternoon we learnt about the inspirational person Andy Murray.

We learnt that he is a professional tennis player. Andy has won 2 Olympic gold medals and was the first British person to win a Grand Slam since Fred Perry in 1932. We watched him winning Wimbledon and talked about the points system. We also learnt that he is passionate about women being fairly treated in tennis and other sports. We also had great fun working together to practice our tennis skills, some of us were able to have a rally of 5 and 6 hits.
