1st July 2020
We want to start by thanking you for your support during this strange time. As a school we have worked hard throughout the lockdown period to ensure that we are still offering support for you and your children. We have remained open to some children since March and opened for children in key year groups from the beginning of June, as per government request. We have continued to provide learning activities for all children and maintained contact with you all on a regular basis as far as possible.
It has been heart-warming to see more children in school this month, but we are aware that this is still a relatively small proportion of our children and we miss them all.
You will know that the government have announced the intention for all children to return to school from September. We were really happy to hear this announcement and are planning for this while waiting for final guidance documents from the government to be released. We are putting measures in place to keep everyone as safe as possible, given the remaining risk of coronavirus. It is clear from the evidence that this rarely affects children but we still need to do what we can to restrict direct physical contact and continue with our additional cleaning routines to protect children and adults.
We will be closing for all children over the summer break as per usual, breaking up on Thursday 23rd July 2020, as Friday 24th will be an Inset Day. This will allow us to prepare classrooms and plan our recovery curriculum so that we are ready and well prepared to welcome everyone back in September.
We will confirm final details once we have received government guidance but currently plan to re-open for children on
Wednesday 2nd September for Years 6,5,4,3(current years 5,4,3,2)
Thursday 3rd September for years 6,5,4,3 AND 2,1, Reception, Nursery(current year 1,Reception and Nursery)
All children every day from Friday 4th September.
If you have been receiving free school meal vouchers during the past few months then these will continue over the summer break.
We wish you all the very best and look forward to seeing you all back in September. Have a safe and happy summer break.
