Absence and late procedure

We believe that good attendance at school has a direct impact on progress and achievement.  We expect all children to attend school regularly and on time in order to maximise their learning as well as their social and emotional development.  We are aiming for each child to be an Attendance Hero - Here, Everyday, Ready & On Time.

Our target for attendance this academic year is 96% attendance for everyone.  Please help us to achieve this by making sure your child comes to school regularly and gets here in plenty of time to start the day and not miss out on learning.

If your child is ill, then please ring the school office on 0115 9155769 and let us know before 9am.  It is our policy to telephone home if any child is not at school, and we haven't been given a reason for absence.  This is done to ensure that all our children are safe and that no one has gone astray from leaving home to arriving at school.
